Digital Group

The Digital Imaging Group focuses on digital photography and the processes used to create the digital image.   The group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, at 6:30pm.

The group was started to assist photographers that wanted to transition from film to digital photography.  It continues as an educational forum to help photographers understand and explore the control and power that is available to them and their digitally captured images.

Co-chairs Linda & Gene Pardee are always interested in program and speaker suggestions.  Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it - Phone: (360) 918-8038

The magic resolution formula

To find out if your image is large enough for your end use without pixelating the image, divide the number of pixels by the resolution. For example:

This means the printed piece can be a max of 10” before some loss of image quality. If your printer only required 150 dpi, you could print the image as large as 20”.

What size image do I need for web or print?
