To members of the Olympia Camera Club,
The Annual Banquet and Membership Meeting of the Olympia Camera Club will be Tuesday, June 25 at 6:00 p.m., Black Lake Grange in Olympia. The business meeting portion will feature election of our officers and your vote on proposed amendments to our Bylaws. This email is about the proposed amendments to the Bylaws (for information on the rest of the evening’s program, please see our May newsletter and watch for additional email announcements).
The Olympia Camera Club has long operated as a nonprofit (organized in 1935!). Under these amendments, we will continue our photography activities as a nonprofit and members will continue to vote for the Club officers, approve the dues rate, and approve the Bylaws.
The amendments provide a lot more detail about how we operate. They also provide a key protection of indemnification to those members serving all of us as members of the Board and on our committees. As many as 15 of us are currently carrying out the work of the Club as volunteers, serving as Board officers, committee chairpersons, and assigned roles like newsletter editor and webmaster.
Here’s the process required by our existing Bylaws to bring us from now to your vote on June 25. The vote will take place during the annual membership meeting and banquet.
May 15, 2019 Provide this advance copy of the proposed amendments by email to members and post to the website.

2707 Conger Ave NW, Olympia, WA 98502. This will precede the regularly scheduled speaker.
June 25, 2019 Vote on the proposed amendments at the annual membership meeting and banquet, Black Lake Grange, Olympia. Address is 6011 Black Lake Boulevard SW, Olympia, WA 98512. Program begins at 6:00 p.m. Voting will be by members whose dues are paid for 2019 and who are present at the annual meeting.

In reviewing the OCC Bylaws Draft Amendments, you will find the new wording in dark grey and underlined. Deletions have a strike-through. We found red typeface to be difficult to read.
