March 23, 2026 – Every year at about this time the cherry trees on the south side of the Legislative Building at the Capitol put on a great show. This can take place between mid March and mid April. We have never had a field trip for this event due to the difficulty of scheduling it. This year I decided to schedule it knowing full well this date will change. I will keep an eye on the cherry blossom progress and change the date as needed. I should know for sure four days in advance. I make the effort to go to the Capitol for this every year. We will meet by the sundial just south of the Legislative Building at 6pm which gives us time to shoot the cherry blossoms and early flowers in the sunken garden and elsewhere on campus.Later in golden hour we will return to the sundial area to photograph the Capitol at dusk with the blossoms in the forground. Parking should not be an issue in the evening either on the campus or in the South Capitol neighborhood. If you have any questions contact me.
